Of Ink and Poetrywas an ambitious exhibit of original contemporary fine art prints by fifty members of the MPC Printmakers. Each artwork was paired with the poem or prose that inspired its creation. Of Ink and Poetry explored the challenge of making artwork inspired by the written word yet not resulting in mere illustration. Rather, each print, whether representational, abstract or nonobjective, strived to express the essence of the author’s concept. Using traditional and non-traditional processes, artworks included etchings, woodcuts, screenprints, monotypes, monoprints, and mixed media prints.

Of Ink and Poetrywas exhibited at The Pacific Grove Art Center, 568 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove from November 6-December 17, 2015.
